There are so many make-over programmes where an unsuspecting victim is blissfully unaware that their appearance sends out all the wrong messages.
After a visit from Trinny and Suzannah, they look amazing and have a new-found confidence.
What can your business learn from the make-over shows? How many times have you received a leaflet and immediately thrown it away without reading it? Did you discard it because the paper felt cheap and nasty or was it was badly designed? Maybe you followed a web link that looked interesting, but the website looked amateurish – so you moved on. It could be that the leaflet and website offered a brilliant money-making idea for your business – but because it was poorly presented it didn’t get a second chance.
Now look at your marketing material – your logo, stationery, web site and brochures. What do they say about you? Remember, everything you publish says something about you – whether you like it or not. If they give the impression that you work out of your bedroom, it’s time to invest in a little professional help.
Professional help?
That sounds expensive, especially if you’ve been doing your own artwork. But really, it’s an investment towards future business. Think of it this way – is it more expensive to send out material that puts people off or spending some money on promotional material that makes you look a million dollars and increases your client-base?
People are naturally drawn to things that look attractive and that principle applies to businesses too. An objective view of your marketing can work wonders for your business, giving you the confidence to go after bigger clients. It can even help boost your staff morale.
